Name that movie. If you need another hint: “When I’m feeling sad / I simply remember my favorite things / And then I don’t feel so bad.”
I’ve been feeling sad/bad/blue/anxious/down/what-have-you for a few weeks, so I’ve been trying especially hard to remember and bust out my favorite things as often as possible. In no particular order, here are some of them:
Coffee–And hopefully tea soon! I just took the plunge and bought one of those metal tea infusers along with tiny quantities of some different loose-leaf teas so that I can finally find some tea that I like without buying a whole box of teabags only to decide that they taste like dirty leaf water to me.
Books–Reading a for-fun, non-school, non-non-fiction book, and even though I’m not totally loving the particular book, I am loving having something to read that isn’t for a class or for my self-improvement/edification.
Netflix–And chill, but literal chilling…and often by myself.
The feeling of satisfaction and relief after actually completing a task. I’m not a huge procrastinator, but I am a huge dreader–as in, I spend the entire time leading up to doing a task dreading it. And then it’s over, and I realize that it (usually) wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
My bed–My bed in particular, and cozy blankets in general. After all, what better place to enjoy the first 3 things on this list?
Good food–I am eating chocolate truffles as I type this.
My family, friends, and boyfriend–Awww, so corny and obvious but also true.
What are your favorite things?
